In these past few years it has been seen that the Indian films have got national and international recognition for example- slum dog millionaire, barfi, lagan etc . At the same time, main stream cinemas has continued to project itself in a larger than life manner and joins the race of 100 crore on the Bollywood Film Industry. Well simply these days the success of any film comes out of Mumbai film industry is based on its net collection. It is the money which the makers earn after deducting tax and otherwise and when the figure crosses the 100 crore mark you have a winner else it’s a dud and will be described as a film that has had an average box office run.
This trend was set off in 2008 by aamir khan’s Ghajini and it didn’t take long time to catch on the formula and thus the 100 crore run began. Aamir stayed in the game the very next year too with 3idiots in 2009 .In 2010 it was the turn of salman khan to add to the bollywood kitty. Dabang which reached 100crores but sadly salman’s Wanted missed the 100crore mark by some. In the same year rohit shetty film made 100crores.
In the year 2011 saw two salman khan films ready and bodyguard .Yes the same formula was applied but failed to achieve the collection. Seven more films have been added since then the latest was Ek Tha Tiger which set a new bench mark the fastest 100 crore film. So what do films have they have an attractive star cast, little story line, plenty of stunts, car and item numbers. So it makes a successful film looks like that.
Well now a days you can witness a different scenerio in bollywood films like these days bollywood is saluting the legends of past and it is quite visible through different films like bhaag milkha bhaag ,paan singh tomar. There are strings of biopics that has been released like Mary Kom played by priyanka chopra, neerja played by sonam kapoor and many more. Producers are also coming forward to make movies on biopics .No doubt bollywood movies have always entertained us without complain and will continue doing the same in near future too.
